Get ready to experience 106.9 miles of central Oklahoma most people will never see.

You’re in the Cross Timbers eco region, one of 12 distinct regions of Oklahoma. You get to spend a day descending and then crawling out of the countless contours that make this area special. We’ll be riding through the tribal lands of the Osage, Quapaw, Kickapoo, Wichita and Kiowa nations and weaving your way through Postoak and Blackjack Oak forests. These resilient, scrubby trees cling to massive sandstone ledges that will often be exposed by the sunken and shaded roadbed. You’ll also see countless Eastern Red Cedar, a species that has become dominant in the area with the elimination of natural of prairie fire.

These are active hunting grounds for the Northern Harrier and Redtail hawk, so keep your head up!

Leaving out of Stillwater, you’re on some classic Stillwater roads. This zone has claimed hundreds of derailures throughout the race’s history. As we head towards the town of Mulhall you’ll climb in and out rolling prarie.

The first of 3 aid stations comes at mile 28 in Mulhall. This tiny town is the namesake of Lucille Mulhall, a competition cowgirl in early Oklahoma Territory. She was the first woman to compete in roping, and to perform in and produce rodeos.

In Mullhall, we’ll have Skratch nutrition and H2O to keep you happy! As you roll out of Mullhall you’ve got 33 miles and 1900’ of climbing before you reach the next aid at Guthrie. This sector of the course is gorgeous, with some of the fastest rollers on the route.

It’s in this sector you’ll do the first crossing of the Cimarron River on Pleasant Valley Rd. We love this sandy little tributary of the Arkansas. She flows 700 miles from northeast New Mexico. You’ll cross her again at mile 81.

Our main “halfway point” aid station will be in downtown Guthrie Oklahoma at mile 61. Guthrie was Oklahoma’s first capital city and home to a vibrant community of dirt road riders. This is a great spot for your support crew to meet you. Make sure to checkout Guthrie Brewing and Wander Folk Spirits!

From Guthrie you’ll set off on another 33 miles with close to 2k feet of elevation to the next aid station. This sector which includes College and Triple XXX roads are local favorites, and you’re about to see why!

At mile 82 you’ll cross the Cimmarron once again, using the new highway bridge not yet open to vehicles. After looping around and meeting Hackleman Road, a gorgeous challenge, you’ll cross Wild Horse Creek and loop around to the entrance of the Bovine Bypass, a private land section of rowdy double track.

Once you clean the Bovine Bypass, you’re just a short cruise back into Stillwater for that sweet finish line bliss. You did the damn thing!
