MID SOUTH ETIQUETTE
Respect the land, public and private roads, and their history. Without access to these beautiful spaces, our experiences would not be possible. This is a privilege we must respect.
Be grateful guests and seek to understand those who were here before you. This land is the ancestral home of the Osage, Kiowa, Wichita, Quapaw, Kickapoo, Seminole and Pawnee Nations and Otoe-Missouria Tribe. As we ride and run, we acknowledge these original caretakers who have sustained a connection to this place for much longer than we have.
Discrimination and Harassment policy
At The Mid South, we are committed to providing and fostering an environment where everyone is welcome and feels safe. Harassment or discrimination based on an individual’s race, gender, ethnicity, country of origin, sexual orientation, sexual identity, age, military status, socioeconomic status or religion will not be tolerated. All participants, volunteers, spectators and sponsors are expected and required to abide by this policy. Violation of this policy may result in removal from the event, prohibition from participating in future events, law enforcement involvement, or other appropriate measures, contingent on the circumstances.
Abide by the formal rules of the road. All roads are open to traffic. For your safety, please be constantly aware of your surroundings and obey traffic rules. You are an ambassador of cycling — please represent the sport well!
No outside support crews on course except in designated areas. Participants may help other participants with mechanical support, navigation, or any other means.
Never litter.
Respect private and public property. Please make nature stops privately and respectfully.
Helmets are required in all The Mid South cycling events.
When you register for The Mid South 2023, you agree to abide by all Oklahoma state and local ordinances regarding masks, distancing, out of state travel, and quarantine as well as any additional safety protocols set in place by The Mid South race directors as the policies stand on March 9-11, 2023.
Celebrate! Because we don’t do it enough. Cheers.
